 「レッド・スター・ライン」の博物館に行きました。以前のアントワープのレッド・スター・ライン倉庫はアントワープ市によって名所として指定され、2013年9月28日に博物館として再オープンしました。

 ここアントワープから多くの人がアメリカに渡りました。レッド・スター・ラインは1871年にフィラデルフィアのアメリカン・ラインを経営していたインターナショナル・ナビゲーション社とアントワープのSociete Anonyme de Navigation Belgo-Americaine社のジョイントベンチャーの客船会社として設立されました。会社は経済悪化に伴い経営が終了した1935年まで経営されました。資産全部はオランダ-アメリカ･ラインに売却されました。
A lot of people emigrate to the United States from here Antwerp. The Red Star Line was an ocean passenger line founded in 1871 as a joint veSociete Anonyme de Navigation Belgo-Americainenture between the International Navigation Company of Philadelphia, which also ran the American Line, and the Societe Anonyme de Navigation Belgo-Americaine of Antwerp. The company operated until 1935 when, due to the economic depression, it ceased trading. Its assets were eventually sold to the Holland-America Line. |

 エビもチキンもお野菜も入った欲張りパスタ。クリームソースだけどちょっと赤みがあるソースです。ピリ辛で美味しい。18ユーロ。
It's an extravagant pasta with shrimps, chicken and vegetables. Cream sauce with the reddish tinge was used. Spicy and nice. 18 euro. |

 個人のコレクションが美術館になりました。このコレクションはかってフリッツ・メイヤー・ヴァン・デン・バーグの美術コレクションでした。彼の死後、彼の母親は1901年から04年にかけて河岸地区に彼の広大なコレクションを展示するためネオ-ゴシック様式の家を建てました。「ブリューゲル」の傑作「狂女フリート」。
The private collection became the art museum. The collection once belonged to art collector Fritz Mayer van den Bergh (1858-1901). After his death, his mother built a neo-gothic house in the banking district of Antwerp between 1901 and 1904, as a museum for the expansive art collection. Bruegel's masterpiece "Dull Gret". |
