 今日は国鉄に乗って「アールスト」と言う街まで出かけました。
ブリュッセル中央駅から４０分ぐらい。「アールスト」駅に到着。
Today I came to the town of "Aalst" by the national train.
It takes about 40minutes from the Brussels central station. I arrived at "Aalst" station. |

 私はこんなものだけど、お友だちはバッグや靴、アクセサリーをいくつも買ってたよ。ソルドも終わりが近く、ほとんどたたき売りの値段。二人で大興奮！
Although I bought only such an item, a friend bought a bag, shoes and a lot of accessories. Every items gained the lowest price because soldes was almost over. Two of us were highly excited. |

 鐘楼は1460年に完成し、翌年カリオンが設置されました。現在のカリオンはオリジナルから6代目で52個のベルから構成されています。
The belfry tower at one corner of the building was completed in 1460, and in the next year was equipped with a carillon. The current carillon, the sixth installed since the original, has 52 bells. |

 街いちばんの見どころがここ。Aldermenの家は旧市庁舎です。オリジナルは1225年のものですが、1380年の戦争による火事と1879年の花火事故による火事の後の2回修復がなされています。建物の前にはオランダ最初の印刷業者Dirk Martens (1450年生-1534年没)の像が立っています。
Here is the highlight of the town. The Aldermen's House is a former city hall. Dating originally from 1225, it was partially rebuilt twice as a result of fire damage, first after a 1380 war and again after a fireworks accident in 1879. The statue of Dirk Martens (1450-1534), first printer in the Netherlands, stands in front of the building. |

 14世紀の終わりからここには食肉市場がありました。市場は1630年から34年に建てられた現在の建物を建てるために1629年に取り壊されました。元々は孤児院として使われた後に建物は1663年から18世紀後期まで文芸協会が使用しました。19世紀の初めから「Vetzak」もしくは「アムステルダム証券取引所」と呼ばれる宿泊施設となっています。
Since the end of the 14th century there was a meat hall at this location. This hall was demolished in 1629 to give way to the current building, built from 1630 to 1634. Originally used as an orphanage, the building is occupied from 1663 until the late eighteenth century by the chamber of rhetoric Barbarakamer (literary society). Since the beginning of the 19th century, the building has housed an inn called "Vetzak" or "Borse van Amsterdam". |

元々は1643年から45年にかけて古典様式の邸宅として建てられました。18世紀にロココ様式で部分的に再建されています。

ここは「未完成の内装」で有名です。ルーベンスによる「アールストにおけるペストの消滅をキリストに嘆願する聖ロクス」があり、小便小僧を作ったことで有名なHieronymus Duquesnoyの彫刻を施した礼拝堂（1605年）もあります。

It's famous for "unfinished interior". It contains a painting by Rubens, "Saint Roch beseeching Christ to terminate the Plague at Aalst", and it has also a tabernacle (dated 1605), which features sculptures made by Hieronymus Duquesnoy the Elder, whose most famous creation is Manneken Pis. |

「カルボナード」だよねって言うと、それはフランス語だから、本当は「ストーフカルボナーデ」って言うんだよって言われました。

When I said "It's a carbonnades.", I was told that it's French and it was called "Stoofkarbonade" really. |

 ランチの後はカフェで飲み物をおかわりしながらおしゃべり。午後からは本当に暑くなったからね。おしゃべりして中央駅に帰ってきました。
We had another serving of a drink and had a chat at a cafe after lunch because it became hot truely. We kept chatting until we came back to the central station. |
