 空港に到着。空港はジスカールデスタン大統領によって1975年4月12日にオープンしました。空港は元々リヨン・サトラス空港という名前でしたが、2000年にリヨンの航空開拓者で作家のアントワーヌ・ド・サン＝テグジュペリの生誕100周年を記念して彼の名に改名しました。彼はリヨン生まれ、アカデミー・フランセーズ賞受賞者で第2次大戦で戦死しています。新ターミナルは2017年に完成しています。とても近代的な建物。かっこいい。
We arrived at the airport. The airport was inaugurated by President Valery Giscard d'Estaing on 12 April 1975. The airport was originally named Lyon Satolas Airport, but in 2000 the airport was renamed in honour of Lyonnais aviation pioneer and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery, on the centenary of his birth. He was a native of Lyon, and a laureate of the Grand Prix du roman de l'Academie francaise, and died in World War II. A new tarminal buildiong was completed in 2017. It's a very modern one. Cool. |

We were going to "Hill of Fourviere", the most standard tourist-spots in Lyon. We climbed the hill by cable car which we could get on with a same ticket of the metro. |

 ケーブルカーの駅を出たら目の前はこのバジリカ。
青い空に白い建物がとても美しいです。教会は民間資金で1872年から84年にかけて建てられました。
The basilica is located just in front of the cable car station.
A white bilding in the blue sky is very beautiful. It was built with private funds between 1872 and 1884. |

 このバジリカは外観も大きくて美しいのですが…
建物が象の体、4つの塔がその足に見えるため、バジリカは地元では「引っくり返った象」というニックネームを持っています。

 そういえば壁も天井もモザイクだけど、床はどうなんだろうと見たら…やっぱりモザイク。本当に豪華な教会でした。
We knew walls and the ceiling were covered with mosaic and wanted to know the condition of the floor. As a result, mosaic as well. It was a gorgeous church truely. |

We arrived. It was crowded unexpectedly. Why did you come here during the visit of Lyon ? The museum, founded by the miniaturist artist Dan Ohlmann in 2005, is his private museum. It houses two permanent collections, a collection devoted to the art of miniature and another to special effects techniques used in film shoots. The museum retains the complete collection of works by Dan Ohlmann on the top floor. |

 「クッサン・ド・リヨン」。リヨンのお菓子。
1643年にペストがリヨンの街を襲った時、フルヴィエールの丘の礼拝堂の聖母マリアに伝染病から救ってくれるよう祈るために行列を組織することを議員たちが誓いました。その時に7ポンドの蝋燭と絹のクッションの上にのせた金貨を納めたそうです。この絹のクッションが1960年、1897年からリヨンにあるショラティエ、ヴォアザンにクッション型の菓子を作るアイディアを与えました。

During the plague epidemic in 1643, the aldermen of Lyon made the vow to organize a procession at Fourviere to implore the Virgin Mary to save the city. They carried a seven-pound candle of wax and a gold crown on a silk cushion. This gave the chocolatier Voisin, based in Lyon since 1897, the idea of using the shape of the cushion to create this confection in 1960. |
