 エリザベート公園の中にある「バジリカ」で、クーケルベルグのバジリカとして大変有名です。
"The basilica" is located in the Parc Elisabeth and popularly known as the Koekelberg Basilica.

 ベルギー独立75周年記念にあたる1905年10月12日にレオポルド2世王によって最初の礎石が置かれました。教会建築の財政面はすぐに問題となり、建築は2度の世界大戦で停止となり1969年にやっと完成しました。教会建築としては世界で５番目の大きさです。
King Leopold II laid the first stone on 12 October 1905 during the celebrations commemorating the 75th anniversary of Belgian independence. Financing the construction of the church soon became a problem. The construction was halted by the two World Wars and finished only in 1969. It's the 5th biggest building in the world as a church. |

 89メートルの二つの塔にはさまれたクーポラまで上ることができます。高さ52.8メートルの展望台です。
We can climb to the cupola put between 2 towers of 89m high. It's the observation platform at 52.8m high. |

 展望台まではエレベーターで上れるはずが…エレベーターが動いていませんでした。２４０段の階段を上りました。動いていないのに入場料５ユーロは高くない？
Though we should be able to go up to the observation platform by a lift, the lift didn't work. Therefore we climbed the stairs of 240 steps. When we can't use a lift, I nelieve 5 euros of the admission fee is very expensive. |
