 オランダの「ハーレム」へ行ってきました。
街中は駐車場が高いので郊外に車を停めて電車で行きます。
We visited "Haarlem" in the Netherlands.
We parked a car in the suburbs and went to there by train because a parking fee is expensive in the town. |

 郊外の駅から中央駅へ。駅からは徒歩で旧市街地へ向かいます。
We came to the central station from the station in the suburbs. We headed for the old town from the station on foot. |

 まずはランチ。どこに行くか決めていなかったので、まずはミシュラン一つ星のレストランへ行ってみることに。
First of all, it was lunch. We didn't decide where we visited, so we were heading for Michelin 1-star restaurant. |

 残念ながらレストランは夕食のみの営業でした。すぐ横にあるカフェ「ML」でランチを食べました。とてもいい雰囲気のお店です。
Unfortunately the restraunt opens only for dinner. We had a lunch at the cafe, "ML", at the just side of the restaurant. Iy has a nice atmosphere. |

 さすがに一つ星レストランに併設されたカフェだけあって盛り付けはとてもおしゃれ。満足です。
The appearance was very stylish because, as expected, the cafe was established together with the restaurant. We were satisfied with the lunch. |

 ランチを食べて早速街歩き。「聖バーフォ教会」へ。

 どうして有名かというと、ここで1766年に10歳のモーツアルトが、1740年、1750年の2回ヘンデルが演奏したからです。
The 10-year-old Mozart played the organ in 1766 and Handel did it twice in 1740 and 1750. That's why the organ became famous. |

 この場所の教会の最初の記録は1307年に作られていますが、その木造の教会は14世紀に焼失しています。教会は1479年に再建され1559年に大聖堂になっています。1578年にプロテスタント教会に切り替えられました。
First mention of a church on this spot was made in 1307, but the wooden structure burned in the 14th century. The church was rebuilt in 1479 and only became a cathedral in 1559. It was converted to Protestantism in 1578. |

 教会を出ると「マルクト広場」です。これは「Laurens Janszoon Coster」の像です。彼はこの街で生まれ、「Ａ」の文字を高く掲げています。伝えられるところでは彼はヨハネス・グーテンベルグと同時に印刷術を発明し、オランダの一部の人には最初の印刷術の発明者と認識されています。
There is "Grote Markt" in front of the church. It's the statue of "Laurens Janszoon Coster". He was born in this town and holds the letter "A" up high. He allegedly invented printing simultaneously with Johannes Gutenberg and is regarded by some in the Netherlands as having invented printing first. |

 「マルクト広場」にある「市庁舎」。中央の四角形の建物は14世紀のものですが、独特のファサードは1602年から4年にかけて建てられました。

 「旧食肉市場」。
1603年に遡る歴史的建物です。ここは1604年から18世紀までハーレムの中で唯一生肉の販売が許される場所でした。1950年から建物はフランス・ハル美術館のギャラリーとして使われています。1991年から建物の地下室はハーレム考古学博物館として使われています。
"Vleeshal"
It is a historical building dating from 1603. "Vleeshal" means meat-hall; it was the only place in Haarlem where fresh meat was allowed to be sold from 1604 to the 18th century. Since 1950 the building is in use as a gallery by the Frans Hals Museum. The cellar of the Vleeshal is used by the Archeologisch Museum Haarlem since 1991. |

 オランダらしいといえば「風車」。この風車の名前は「De Adriaan」で1932年に焼け落ち、2002年に再建されました。オリジナルの風車は1779年に建てられ、何世紀もの間、ハーレムの輪郭の独特の一部でした。
When it comes to the Netherlands, "a windmill" is famous. The name of this windmill is "De Adriaan", burnt down in 1932 and was rebuilt in 2002. The original windmill dates from 1779 and the mill has been a distinctive part of the skyline of Haarlem for centuries. |

 「跳ね橋」の手前にあった「タイラース美術館」。
1778年設立のオランダでいちばん古い美術館です。
この日は「ダヴィンチ展」をしていてチケットは売り切れていました。

"Leonardo da Vinci exhibition" was held on that day and tickets were sold out. |

 「Bakenesserkerk」
13世紀に設立され、白い砂岩の塔は1520年に追加されました。教会は現在ハーレム考古学博物館の展示スペースとして使われています。残念ながらこの日は閉まっていました。

It was founded in the 13th century and the white sandstone tower was added in 1520. The church is currently in use as exhibition space for the workgroup of the Archeologisch Museum Haarlem. Unfortunately the church was closed on that day. |

 小腹が空いたのでクレープ屋さんへ。本当はアムステルダム・パンケーキが食べたかったのだけれど、クレープ屋さんしか見つけられませんでした。頼んだのは「オールド・アムステルダム」と名付けられたクレープ。チーズやトマトが入っていてけっこうがっつり系。二人で食べてちょうどいいぐらい。なかなかいいお店でした。
We came to this crepe shop because we were a bit hungry. We wanted to eat Amsterdam pancake, although we could only a crepe shop. We ordered a crepe called "Old Amsterdam". It was a heavy crepe containing tomato and cheese. It was suitable for 2 people. It was a nice shop. |

 駅前広場に立つウィグボルト・リッペルダとKenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer の銅像。ウィグボルト・リッペルダ男爵（1535年?生-1573年7月16日没）は80年戦争（オランダ独立戦争。1568年-1648年）におけるスペイン軍の包囲下における知事でした。Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer (1526年生-1588年没)は1573年のハーレム包囲においてスペイン軍に対する恐れを知らない抵抗によって伝説的な国民の英雄となったハーレムの木材商人です。2011年に建てられました。

Wigbolt, Baron Ripperda (1535?-16 July 1573) was the city governor of Haarlem when the city was under siege by the Spanish army in the Eighty Years' War (Dutch War of Independence (1568-1648)). Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer (1526-1588) was a wood merchant of Haarlem, who became a legendary folk hero for her fearless defense of the city against the Spanish invaders during the siege of Haarlem in 1573. They were erected in 2011. |

 中央駅に到着。雨が降り出しました。駅はオランダで最古の鉄道であるアムステルダム・ロッテルダム間の鉄道の駅として1839年9月20日にオープンしました。
We arrived at Haarlem railway station. It bagan to rain. The station opened at September 20, 1839, on the Amsterdam-Rotterdam railway, the first railway line in the Netherlands. |

 再び国鉄に乗って（一駅だけね）駐車場へ。ニューヨークの「ハーレム」はオランダ系移民がアメリカに渡り、居住エリアを「ニュー・ハーレム」と呼んだことが始まりです。静かな素敵な街でした。
We took a national railway again (only one station) and went to the parking lot. The origin of the name of "Harlem" in New York is that Dutch immigrants who went over Manhattan Island named thier residential "New Haarlem". Quiet and wonderful town. |
