 今日は軍用道路を使って「ステパンツミンダ」へ向かいます。途中見えてきたのは「ジンヴァリ貯水湖」。1970年代に造られた人工湖です。十数カ所の集落が水の底にしずみました。
Today we run on the Georgian military road and head for "Stepantsminda". "The Zhinvali Reservoir" was coming into our sight onthe way. It's an artificial lake established in 1970's. More than a dozen villages sank into the bottom of the water. |

 軍用道路を使ってトビリシから70キロ。「アナヌリ教会」に到着。アナヌリは13世紀からこの地を支配した封建領主であるAragvi公国の城と住居でした。
We ran Georgian military road 70km from Tbilisi. We arrived at "Ananuri". Ananuri was a castle and seat of the eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. |

 高い塀に囲まれた要塞でもありました。砦は銃眼付き胸壁のある防御壁で繋がった2つの城から構成されていました。大きな四角形の塔のある上の砦はよく保存されており、Aragviの最後の防御場所でした。丸い塔のある下の砦はほとんど廃墟となっています。
It was also a fortress surrounded high walls. The fortifications consist of two castles joined by a crenellated curtain wall. The upper fortification with a large square tower is well preserved and is the location of the last defense of the Aragvi. The lower fortification, with a round tower, is mostly in ruins. |

 神の母教会は1689年に建てられました。いくつかのフレスコが残っていますが、ほとんどは18世紀の火事で焼けてしまいました。建設当時はきれいな教会だっただろうなー
The Church of the Mother of God was built in 1689. It contains the remains of a number of frescoes, most of which were destroyed by the fire in the 18th century. I guess it was a beautiful church at the time if construction. |

 内陣。正教会の内陣はこういう扉で区切られていて、私たちは見ることができません。また、教会に入るときも女性はスカートを着て、スカーフで頭をおおう必要があります。男性は長ズボン着用し、脱帽です。
A chancel. A chancel of the orthodox church is devided by such a door and we can't see the inside. When we enter a church, women must wear a skirt and bind a head with a scarf. Men must wear long pants and take off a cap. |

 保存状態の良い浮き彫り細工の外壁。1739年、アナヌリはShansheに率いられたライバル公国によって攻撃されました。Aragvi一族は皆殺しにされました。しかしながら4年後、この地区の農民がShamsheに対し反乱を起こして簒奪者を殺害し、この地を統治するためにテイムラズ2世王を招き入れました。
East facade with the relief work in good preservation. In 1739, Ananuri was attacked by forces from a rival duchy, commanded by Shanshe of Ksani and was set on fire. The Aragvi clan was massacred. However, four years later, the local peasants revolted against rule by the Shamshe, killing the usurpers and inviting King Teimuraz II to rule directly over them. |

 ジョージアの文字はさっぱりわかんないけど、かわいい。教会のいわれやなにやらが書かれている（と思う）。砦は19世紀初めまで使われました。
I don't understand Georgian characters at all, but they are lovely. I think a history and so on of the church is written. The fortress remained in use until the beginning of the 19th century. |

I came here to see this landscape. It is more magnificent and beautiful than expected. When Alexander Pushkin, a Russian poet, visited this church in 1827, he left a poetry; "High above the family of peaks, Kazbek, your royal tent shines with eternal rays. And your monastery floats beyond the clouds, Like an ark hovering in the sky, glimpsed above the crests". |

 神に近づこうと高いところに建てた教会。先日行ったギリシアのメテオラでもその思いで崖の上に教会を建てましたが、標高が全然違います。間違いなくここが世界でいちばん神に近い教会だと思います。いつまでも見ていたい素晴らしい景色でした。行かれるときは山の麓で４WD車を頼んでください。けっこうハードな山道です。
People built a church in the high place to approach God even a little. People of Meteora where we had been the other day built a church with a same spirit, but an altitude is different completely. I think it's the nearest church to God in the world without fail. It's a wonderful scenery which I want to watch forever. When you come here, i recommend you ask 4WD vehicle to take you to the church at the foot of a mountain. It's a quite hard mountain path. |

Even if we eat only bread, there is no problem. Very tasty. Georgian breads are traditionally baked in a large, round, well-shaped oven. |

 「ヒンカリ」
皮がもちもちでおいしかった。ちょっと小さめサイズなのも良かったです。食後のコーヒーはキッチンにおいてあるインスタントコーヒーを自分で入れます。ごちそうさまでした。
"Khinkali"
Its skin was chewy and excellent. Slightly smallish size was also good. We made an instant coffee in the kitchen by ourselves as coffee after a meal and drank it. Thank you for a nice lunch. |

海外でスイカを食べるといつも「日本のスイカは甘くておいしいなぁ」と思うのですが、ジョージアのスイカは日本のスイカに負けてない！本当においしかったー
I ordered watermelons as a dessert.
Whenever I eat a watermelon abroad, I think "Japanese watermelon is sweet and delicious", but Georgian watermelon does not lose to Japanese one. They were great. |
