 ローカルのお友だちから「オステンド」よりいいからぜひ行って！と言われていた「クノッケ」。こんなに押し迫ってから行くことに。ブルージュの先20分ほど。ベルギーの北の端の街です。
The visit of "Knokke" was recommended by a local friend because it was more beautifil town than "Ostend". When the stay in Belgium was nearing its end, we decided to visit there. It takes about 20 minutes from Bruges by train. It is the north edge town of Belgium. |

 1920年に建てられました。北海に面したリゾートの街。海に行くぐらいしかすることはありません。できればいい季節のいいお天気の日に来たかった−。小さな駅舎を出て海まで歩きます。
It was built in 1920. Knokke is the most north-eastern seaside resort on the Belgian coast. We have nothing to do but going to a beach. If possible, we wish we wanted to come on a fine day in the good season. We left the small station and walked to the sea. |

 冬の海沿いリゾートにそんなに人はいないだろうと思っていたら海岸沿いのレストランはどこも満席。やっとなんとか座れるミシュランプレートのお店へ。
Though we thought there were few people at the coastal resort in the winter, all restaurants near the beach were full. We found a Michelin-plate restaurant to get a seat at last. |

 ベルギー料理の小エビのコロッケ。
北海産のエビで作るのが正解。
濃厚でおいしい。しかも大きいー！
Shrimp croquette of Belgian cuisine.
Cooking with shrimp from the North sea is orthodox.
Rich and tasty. In addition, they are big.

 洗面器みたいな器で出てきたブイヤベース。もう、おいしすぎてびっくり。洗面器大だったけれど、もう一口、もう一口だけ…と止まらなくなる−。大きなエビやお魚がたっぷり。うまみもたっぷり。
Bouillabaisse was served with a soup plate like a washbowl. I was surprised with its much tastiness. Though it was a very heavy dish, I ate all while I was eating by a mouthful. It had full of big prawns, fishes and tastiness. |

 海岸沿いにたつ「観光案内所」。
もともとは1872年に建てられた灯台でした。1954年に取り壊され、今の形になりました。
"Tourist information centre" stands near the beach.
Originally it was a lighthouse built in 1872. It was demolished in 1954 and rebuilt later. |

 「オステンド」にはない高級ブランド店がならぶ通り。こちらの方が高級リゾートと言われる理由はここにあるのだと思います。
This street is lined with luxury brand shops. "Ostend" does not have such a street. That's why it is said here is higher level resort than Ostend. |

 夏の間だけ使われて、冬の間は人がいないのか、住宅街はとても静かです。
I guess these houses are used only in the summer and there are no people in the winter. Therefore a residential area is so quiet. |

 北の端の駅ですからここが線路の行き止まり。ここからブリュッセルまで1時間半です。またベルギーでの一日が終わりました。
行きたかった小さな街に行くことが出来てよかったです。
This is a dead end of lines because it is the north edge station. It takes 1 hour half from here to Brussels. A day in Belgium was over again.
I am happy because I was able to visit the small town I wanted to do. |
