 ベルギーの小さな街「コルトレイク」最高級のリネンを生産しています。日本に帰国する前にぜひ訪ねてみたかった街へ行ってきました。
国鉄で中央駅から約1時間で到着です。
At the small town in Belgium, "Kortrijk", the highest grade linen is produced. I went to the town I had wanted to visit before the return to Japan. It takes about 1 hour by a national train from the central station in Brussels. |

 世界遺産の「鐘楼」はコルトレイクがフレミッシュ繊維産業の重要な中心地になった1307年頃にマルクト広場に加えられました。最古の部分（基礎）は当時のものです。現在マルクト広場の中心に独立して立っている塔は1410年に建てられた「繊維会館」の一部でした。より健康的な地域を作るために市当局は周りの建物を買収し1896年に破壊しました。48個のカリヨンがあります。
The belfry, the World Heritage site, was added to the main market square around 1307, when Courtray was prospering as an important centre of the Flemish cloth industry. The oldest part (the base) of the tower still dates back to this date. The tower, which nowadays is a free-standing tower in the middle of the Main Market Square, used to be the main tower of the "Cloth hall", built in 1410. With the intentions to create a healthier neighbourhood, the city authorities bought the surrounding buildings and in 1896, they were destroyed. The tower has 48 carillon bells. |

 マルクト広場にある「市庁舎」。
現在の市庁舎はゴシック・ルネサンス様式の混合体として1520年に建てられました。1526年にはそれまで預言者像が設置されていたニッチに主要なフランダース侯爵家の人々の像が設置されました。フランス占領時代の1807年に彫刻とそのキャノピーは取り除かれ、時代の精神に合うように建物正面は平らにされました。修復作業は1958年から1961年に行われています。

The present city hall was erected about 1520 in a style composed of Gothic and Renaissance elements. In 1526, statues of the principal Counts of Flanders were put into niches, which so far had housed prophets' statues. In 1807, during the French occupation, the statues and their canopies were removed and the front was flattened out according to the spirit of the age. The works of the restoration lasted from 1958 to 1961. |

 「レイエ川」にある街のシンボルの「ブローエル塔」。
全く同じに見えますが塔は同時に建てられたものではありません。南側の塔はレイエ川の交通を管理するために1385年に建てられました。この塔はフランダース侯爵家の中世に建てられた最初の城の防壁の一部でした。17世紀にルイ14世によって破壊された12世紀の防壁の一部でもあります。北側の塔は1415年に建てられ兵器庫として使われました。今日、塔は街を囲む中世の市壁の最後の一部となっています。コルトレイクのほとんどの砦はフランスとスペインがこの地方の支配を争っていた1683年にセバスティアン・ル・プレストル・ド・ヴォーバンの命令で破壊されました。残存部分は18世紀と両大戦の間に破壊されました。
"Broel Towers" along "the river Lys, a landmark in the city.
Although they look identical, the towers were not built at the same time. The Southern tower was built in 1385 to control the traffic on the river Lys. This tower was part of the fortified fence of the first medieval castle of the Counts of Flanders. It was also part of the 12th century rampart, destroyed by Louis XIV in the 17th century. The Northern tower was built in 1415 and was used as an armory. Nowadays, the towers are the last remaining parts of the medieval city wall around the city. Most of the fortifications in Kortrijk were ordered to be destroyed by Vauban in 1683, a period in which the French and the Spanish armies repeatedly fought over control of the region. The remaining parts were destroyed in the 18th century and during the world wars. |

 まずはランチ。オープンを待って入りました。「レイエ川」沿いにあるミシュランプレートのお店です。「ブローエル塔」を見ながらいただきます。
First of all, I went for lunch. I waited for the opening of the restaurant and got into there. This Michelin-Plate restaurant is located along the Lys river. Broeltowers were seen while I was having lunch. |

 緑色のものはキャベツ。これもパリパリにしてあります。ツナのディップをつけて食べます.初めて食べる味。おいしい。
A green one is crispy cabbage. I ate it with tuna dip. I have eaten this taste for the first time. Tasty. |

1390年から1466年にかけて建てられた「聖マーティン教会」の塔が見えます。1585年に有名なサクラメント塔が聖歌隊席の上に建てられました。現在の鐘楼は19世紀のもので、1862年に聖歌隊席や屋根と塔の大部分を破壊した火事の後に再建されました。

マルクト広場にあったクリスマスマーケットのスケートリンク。
まだだれも滑ってなかった…
I was going back to Brussels because it was getting dark.
There was a skate rink of the Christmas market in the market square. No one skated there yet. |
