 久しぶりにメヘレンへ出かけました。
16世紀初頭、ネーデルランドの首都だった「メヘレン」。
そのときの統治者、オーストリアの「マルガレータ王妃」が暮していた宮殿。今は裁判所として使われています。
I visited Mechelen for the first time in a while.
"Mechelen" became the capital of the Low Countries (very roughly the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg) in the first half of the 16th century under "Archduchess Margaret" of Austria. It's her palace. Today it houses the lower courts. |

 13世紀にはすでにこの場所には洗礼者ヨハネに捧げる礼拝堂がありました。15世紀後半に教会は本格的な礼拝が行われるまで拡大されました。教会は21世紀初頭に本格的に修理されました。外面の修理に取り組んだ後、内装の修理は2018年に完成しました。こちらの教会には「ヴァン・ダイク」の師匠「ルーベンス」の絵があります。
In the 13th century there was already a chapel dedicated to John the Baptist at this location. In the second half of the 15th century, the church was then expanded into a full-fledged house of worship. The church was thoroughly restored at the beginning of the 21st century. After the outside had first been tackled, the restoration of the interior was completed in 2018. There is a picture of "Peter Paul Rubens", the master of "Anthony van Dyck", in the church. |

It takes 20 minutes from the station to Brussels.
