「ヴァレッタ」が築かれる前のマルタの首都。城壁にかこまれた町を歩きます。イムディーナ門は要塞都市イムディーナへのメイン・ゲートです。1724年にバロック様式で建てられました。

In 1883, Karmni Grima, who was a Maltese peasant, was walking past the small chapel and heard a voice asking her to recite three Hail Marys'. ちょっと上からの景色も。どどーんと大迫力！アーチが危険な状態のため、断崖に沿ってアーチの上への歩行禁止の警告がなされています。2012年4月に大きな岩が崩落し結果として窓は大きくなりましたが危険も増し、同時にほぼ完璧な楕円形だった窓も変形しました。

The scenery from a little bit above is also extremely powerful. The arch's dangerous condition has led to warning notices being placed along the cliffs to stop people walking over the top of the arch. In April 2012 a large piece of rock was dislocated and resulted in the window being made larger and more unstable, as well as a reduction in its nearly perfect oblong shape. |

水玉模様の門。神殿は2001年4月13日に少なくとも3人によってバール等を使い約60個の巨石を引き倒したり、割ったり、落書きを彫られたりする破壊行為がなされました。神殿の損害は当初、修復不能とされましたが、新技術によって修復され損害を受けた場所を特定するのが難しくなっています。神殿は2002年に再公開されました。
"Mnajdra"
The gate of the polka dot. Mnajdra was vandalized on 13 April 2001, when at least three people armed with crowbars toppled or broke about 60 megaliths, and inscribed graffiti on them. The damage to the temples was initially considered as irreparable, but they were restored using new techniques making it difficult to tell where the megaliths had been damaged. The temples were reopened to the public in 2002. |
