 今日はベルギーの建国記念日です。
小便小僧のジュリアンくんはこんな感じ。
（伝説#4）
4番目の伝説は小さな男の子が街の中心地に母親と買い物に来て行方不明になったことが発端となります。母親は子供がいなくなったことでパニックとなり、市長を含む行きかう人々に息子を知らないか訪ね歩きました。街をあげた捜索が始まり、ついに男の子は街の角で小便をしているところを発見されました。この話は時を超えて伝えられ、像はその伝説に敬意を表して建てられたとのことです。
Today is the National Foundation Day of Belgium. Julian of Manneken Pis wears clothes like these.

The fourth legend was that a small boy went missing from his mother when shopping in the centre of the city. The woman, panic-stricken by the loss of her child, called upon everyone she came across, including the mayor of the city. A city-wide search began and when at last the child was found, he was urinating on the corner of a small street. The story was passed down over time and the statue erected as a tribute to the well-known legend. |

 ジュリアンくんに会った後、王宮前で行われるパレードを見に行きます。
街中は広いエリアで歩行者天国になっていていろいろなイベントが行われていました。
After we saw Julian, we would go to see the parade which would be carried out at the park of Brussels. The wide area of the city was turned into a pedestrian precinct, various events was held. |

 昨日、この公園を散歩したときはなかったなぁ。公園は一日で大変身しました。夜１１時から花火だけど、雨が降りそうなので帰宅することにしました。
I don't think there were display items when I took a walk in this park yesterday. The park has changed dramatically. Though the fireworks would start at 11 of night, we came home because it seemed to rain. |
