世界で最も美しい広場だと言われています。1695年8月13日、ナムールの包囲攻撃からアウグスブルグ同盟軍を撤退させるために7万人の強力なフランス軍のブリュッセル大砲撃が始まりました。フランス軍はほとんど防御力のない市中心部にカノン砲と臼砲で大規模な砲撃を加え、グランプラスと周辺の街に放火と破壊を加えました。広場はその後の4年間で街のギルドによって再建されました。
They say this is the most beautiful square in the world. On August 13, 1695, a 70,000-strong French army began a bombardment of Brussels in an effort to draw the League of Augsburg's forces away from their siege on French-held Namur. The French launched a massive bombardment of the mostly defenseless city centre with cannons and mortars, setting it on fire and flattening the majority of the Grand Place and the surrounding city. The square was rebuilt in the following four years by the city's guilds. |

1829年創業の老舗「ダンドワ」。どのガイドブックにも出てくる有名なお店です。2階のティールームでワッフルを食べました。
This is the old store "Dandoy" established in 1829. You can find this famous store on any guidebook. I had waffle at the tea room on the second floor of this store. |
