「ブイヨン城」のことを勧めていたので行ってみました。
「スモワ川」にかかる橋の向こうに見えるのが「ブイヨン城」です。
As 2 local friends recommended Bouillon Castle, we visited there. (The two don't know each other.) We can see "Bouillon Castle" behind the bridge over the "Semois River". |

 ベルギー国内でもっとも保存状態がよく、最古の城です。文献に最初に現れるのは988年ですが、もっと前から同じ場所に城はありました。
The castle is the oldest and in the best preservation in Belgium. Although it was mentioned first in 988, there has been a castle on the same site for a much longer time. |

 フランス国境に近く、要塞としてつかわれていました。1082年、ゴドフロワ・ド・ブイヨンがブイヨン城に入植しましたが、後にリエージュ司教のオツベルに第1回十字軍の融資の見返りとして売り払っています。この城は17世紀にルイ14世の軍隊創設者であるヴォーバンによって改修されました。
It is close to the French border and was used as a fortress. In 1082, Bouillon Castle was inherited by Godfrey of Bouillon, who sold it to Otbert, Bishop of Liege in order to finance the First Crusade. The castle was later fitted for heavy artillery by Vauban, Louis XIV's military architect in the late 17th century. |
