いいお天気です。この場所は1755年にデザインされました。彫刻と噴水で飾り立てられ、当時の王の名前を記念してルイ15世広場と名付けられました。広場には王の騎馬像が飾られました。

It's a beautiful day. The Place was designed in 1755. Decorated with statues and fountains, the area was named Place Louis XV to honor the king at that time. The square showcased an equestrian statue of the king.

フランス革命の際、ルイ15世の騎馬像は破壊され一帯は革命広場と命名されました。新政府はここにギロチンを据え付け、ルイ16世が1793年1月21日に、マリー・アントワネットが同10月16日に斬首されました。1795年に総裁政府は革命の混乱の後の和解の印としてコンコルド広場として再命名しました。1814年のブルボン復古王政の後、一時期王の名前に戻りましたが1830年の7月革命の後、今の名前に戻り現在にいたっています。

During the French Revolution the statue of Louis XV of France was torn down and the area renamed "Place de la Revolution". The new revolutionary government erected the guillotine in the square, and it was here that King Louis XVI was executed on 21 January 1793 and Queen Marie Antoinette was did on 16 October 1793. In 1795, under the Directory, the square was renamed Place de la Concorde as a gesture of reconciliation after the turmoil of the French Revolution. After the Bourbon Restoration of 1814, the name was changed to King's name temporary. After the July Revolution of 1830 the name was returned to Place de la Concorde and has remained since. |

ともかくここでは「セザンヌ」「マチス」「モディリアーニ」「ピカソ」「ルノアール」「ルソー」「シスレー」「スーティン」「ユトリロ」など人も少ない中、ゆっくり見られます。コンコルド広場すぐよこ。お勧めです。

Anyhow, here, we can take time to see works by Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Rousseau, Alfred Sisley, Chaim Soutine, and Maurice Utrillo, among others because there are few other visitors. It is located next to the Place de la Concorde. I recommend this museum. |

到着。予想以上に立派なお城でびっくり！構造は大きく分けて「グランシャトー」と「プチシャトー」の2つから成っています。グランシャトーはフランス革命期に最初の建物が破壊された後、1870年代にアンリ・ドルレアン(オマール公)によって再建されたものであり、プチシャトーは1560年頃、アンヌ・ド・モンモランシーのために建てられたものです。

We arrived. We were suprised at a magnificent castle which was more than our expectation. The site comprises two attached buildings: the Petit Chateau built around 1560 for Anne de Montmorency, and the Grand Chateau, which was destroyed during the French Revolution and rebuilt in the 1870s. |

お城の中のレストランへ。かつて厨房だったところがレストランとして使われています。
モンモランシー家とこの場所の関係は1484年に始まります。最初の住居（今はグランシャトーになり残っていませんが）1528年から1531年にアンヌ・ド・モンモランシーのために建てられています。プチシャトーは1560年頃、彼のために建てられています。1632年アンリ2世死去の後、母シャルロット・マルグリット・ド・モンモランシーを引き継いだ大コンデ、ルイ2世のものとなりました。

We went the restaurant in the castle. The place which had been a kitchen once is used for the restaurant.
The estate's connection with the Montmorency family began in 1484. The first mansion (no longer in existence, now replaced by the Grand Chateau) was built in 1528-1531 for the Constable Anne de Montmorency. The Petit Chateau was also built for him, around 1560. In 1632, after the death of Henri II, it passed to the Grand Conde who inherited it through his mother, Charlotte Marguerite de Montmorency. |

ここの庭も広そうです。中へ入ります。
オリジナルの住居はフランス革命で破壊されました。最後の大公の手によって質素に再建されましたが、1853年から1872年にかけてこの建物はオルレアン家から没収されイギリスの銀行Couttsが所有しました。城は1875年から1881年にかけて完全に再建されました。

I thought this garden was huge. We got into the castle.
The original mansion was destroyed in the French Revolution. It was repaired in a modest way by the last Conde, but the entire property was confiscated from the Orleans family between the years 1853 and 1872, during which interval it was owned by Coutts, an English bank. Chantilly was entirely rebuilt in 1875-1881. |

「厩」。厩は1719年に馬に生まれ変わると信じていたコンデ公ルイ4世アンリの命令で建てられました。彼は建築家に彼の地位の馬にふさわしい厩を注文しました。結果としてこの186ｍの厩は18世紀建築の傑作と考えられています。ここには240頭の馬と500匹以上のハウンド犬を飼うことができました。

"The Great Stables". The Great Stables were built in 1719, on the orders of Louis Henri, duke of Bourbon, Prince of Conde, who believed that he would be reincarnated as a horse. He asked the architect to build stables that would be suitable to house a horse of his rank. The resulting 186 m long stables are considered a masterpiece of 18th century architecture. The stables could house 240 horses and up to five hundred hounds. |

 途中のパーキングでお夕飯を食べて帰宅。帰るとベランダからきれいな夕陽が見えました。
お疲れ様でしたー。
We had a denner at the parking area on the way home. When I got home, we could see a beautiful sundown from our balcony. We enjoyed the trip very much. |
