 ラーケン地区にある王宮内の温室が春に3週間ほど公開されます。今日もお天気に誘われて行ってみました。平日の午前中だというのに入場待ちの長い列ができていました。
The greenhouses in the park of the Royal Palace of Laeken is open to the public for around 3 weeks in March. I went there because of the good weather. Long queues awaiting the entrance formed even though it was the morning of a weekday. |

 王宮近くまで歩いて温室の方へ。王宮は1782年から84年にかけて建てられました。1831年7月21日にベルギー王室の公邸になりました。

 建物は1874年から95年にアールヌーヴォー様式で建てられ、ヴィクトル・オルタの師であるアルフォンス・バラの設計です。オルタはアール・ヌーヴォー建築における最重要人物の一人とされています。
The building was built between 1874 and 1895 in Art Nouveau style and designed by Alphonse Balat who was the master of Victor Horta. Horta is considered one of the most important names in Art Nouveau architecture. |
