 オランダの古城、「ホネンスブロエク」に行ってきました。お天気が今ひとつだったからか着いたときは誰もいなくて閉まっているのかと思いました。
We visited Hoensbroek Castle in the Netherland. The weather wasn't good, so we could see nobody around the castle and we were afraid the castle was closed today. |

 壕に囲まれたとてもお城らしいお城です。いわゆるモット・アンド・ベーリーの城で（築城の1様式。モットは小山、ベーリーは外壁です）その歴史は1225年に遡ります。1250年には現在の城の場所に要塞化した荘園が建てられました。
The castle is surrounded by a moat and a typical castle. This so-called motte-and-bailey (a kind of fortification. Motte is "hill" and bailey is external wall) dated from around 1225. In 1250 a fortified manor was built on the location of the present castle. |

 お城の中へ。何世紀もの間に城は3回にわたり大きな再建と拡張を受けました。違った世紀（14、17、18世紀）の違った建築様式は容易に見分けられます。
We got into the castle. Over the centuries the castle has received extensive rebuilding and expansion three times. The different architectural styles from the different centuries (14th, 17th and 18th) are easy to separate from each other. |

Though the tower wasn't so tall, it was very difficult to climb due to its narrowness. We had a muscle pain the next day. |

 あちらこちらに作られていました。トイレです。建物から突き出して作られていて、排泄物は壕に落ちるようになっています。
They are installed in various place. it's a rest room. It sticks out from the building and the excrement falls into the moat by this device. |

 誰かの部屋だと思う。案内も解説もパンフレットもみんなオランダ語なのでさっぱりわかりません。
I think it's someone's room. We don't understand it because a guidance, an explanation and a brochure are written only in Dutch. |

 ブリュッセルから約1時間のお城。半日楽しく見学できました。
It takes 1 hour by car from Brussels to the castle. We enjoyed the visit in half day. |
