 通常はガイドブックに載っていない安いホテル取るのですが、今回は地球の歩き方にも載っている「ラディソン・ブルー・スタイル・ホテル」に宿泊。1914年建築の建物を改造し、中も1920年代のウィーンがコンセプト。メトロ徒歩１分のかっこいいホテルでした。
We usually book the reasonable hotel which doesn't appear on the guidebook, but this time we stayed at "Radisson Blu Style Hotel" which appear even on Japanese guidebook. This hotel uses the building built in 1914 and remodeled. The concept of inside is Vienna of 1920's. It's a modern hotel to arrive at from a metro in a 1-minute walk. |

 ランチを食べるほどでもないし、さっそく「デメル」で「ザッハー・トルテ」。
We were not hungry so as to eat a lunch, so I lost no time in having a "Sachertorte" at "Demel". |

ホテルから歩いてすぐのところにあるんだよねー。1786年に創業。ここは有名な皇妃エリーザベトが愛したカフェで彼女は毎日ここのケーキを宮廷に届けさせたそう。

It is within easy reach to walk of the hotel. It was founded in 1786. This is the cafe which famous Empress "Elisabeth" loved it is said she made them deliver cakes at the Court every day. |

「ザッハ・トルテ」には生クリームよね。頼むとどんぶりいっぱい出てきたー！甘味の強いケーキに甘味のほとんどない生クリームをたっぷりつけて食べるとおいしいんだよねー

"Sachertorte" always needs fresh cream. When I asked it, full of a bowl was served. I think cake of strong sweetness with fully fresh cream having less sweetness is very nice. |

 「シュテファン寺院」
ウィーンのシンボルです。ここは12世紀半ばから建築が始まり、最初はロマネスク様式だったものが、14〜16世紀に現在のゴシック様式に改築されたそうです。今建っている塔は南塔。本当は同じ高さの北塔も建てる予定だったのですが、予算不足で断念。塔は登れますが今回は時間の関係で登らず。

It's a symbol of Vienna. They started construction of this at the mid-twelfth century as Norman architecture first. Later it is said it was rebuilt in 14-16 centuries by current Gothic style. The tower where it is built now is south tower. Really there was a plan to built north tower of the same height, but it was abandoned because of a lack of funds. Though we could climb the tower, we didn't due to time constraints. |

 いいお天気です。
この柱は聖母マリアを讃えた宗教碑でしばしばペストの終了等を感謝したペスト記念柱として知られています。聖三位一体柱の目的は通常単純に教会と信仰を祝うものですが、ペストというテーマは塔の設立にしばしば同様の役割を与えてきました。人物やキリスト教のシンボルを載せた塔の形の宗教碑建立は特に17、18世紀のヨーロッパカソリック諸国ではやった公共の信仰行為でした。このように塔はバロック建築の最も目に見える建築物となりました。これらはまた正教会のバロック建築にも影響を与えました。

This columns are religious monuments built in honour of the Virgin Mary, often in thanksgiving for the ending of a plague - and known as plague columns - or for some other help. The purpose of the Holy Trinity columns was usually simply to celebrate the church and the faith. However, the plague motif could sometimes play its role in their erection as well. Erecting religious monuments in the form of a column surmounted by a figure or a Christian symbol was a gesture of public faith that flourished in the Catholic countries of Europe especially in the 17th and 18th centuries. Thus they became one of the most visible features of Baroque architecture. This usage also influenced some Eastern Orthodox Baroque architecture. |

13世紀に建てられ、ハプスブルグ家が600年以上にわたって住居としてきました。増改築が繰り返され2500以上の部屋があります。中は「銀器コレクション」「シシィ博物館」「皇帝の部屋」の３つに分かれています。

 「王宮」
これでもかーっていうぐらいいろんなものが並んでます。でもこれは金メッキです。ハプスブルグ家の金食器等は度重なる戦争等の費用でほとんで金貨に作りなおされまして、あまり残っておりません。銀食器はいやというほどコレクションされていますが。

Surprisingly a large quantity of treasures are displyed. However these are gold platings. The gold tablewares of the house of Hapsburg remain in a small quantity because they were remade by gold coins for repeated war expenses. On the other hand, silver tablewares remains in great quantity. |

 「シシィ」とはハプスブルグ家の実質的な最後の皇妃「エリーザベト」
のことです。彼女は今の日本の皇太子妃と一緒で宮廷生活になじめず自由気ままに生きていたので生前は大変評判が悪かったのですが、暗殺されたため評価ががらっと変わりました。「エリーザベト」がつけていたアクセサリーと同形のピアス。スワロフスキーです。
"Sisi" is "Elisabeth" who was the substantial last Empress of the House of Hapsburg. She had bad reputation during the lifetime because she couldn't become familiar with the court life and lived freely as she liked same as the current Crown Princess of Japan. However the evaluation of her changed at a stretch after she was assassinated. It's the pierced earrings which is the same type of accessory "Elsabeth" wore. It's Swarovski. |

Tempura of a cod with sauce of passion fruit. Though I thought It was a terrible pair, I was suprised at good taste. |

It's a shop which we feel like the craftman with peculiar tastes runs. What do they do if they buy such a old car radio ? Is it possible to put in a car ? |

昼間は長蛇の列なんですが、夜は待たずに入れました。先に書いたデーメルは1848年にクリストフ・デーメルが開き、王宮が近かったので貴族や高級官僚がお客さまだったのですがこちらはオペラ座に近いので音楽家やオペラ歌手、俳優がお得意さまでした。こちらはメッテルニヒの料理人フランツ・ザッハーが開業。
"Cafe Sacher"
Though there was a long line in the daytime, we could come in the cafe without waiting at night. Damel which I had mentioned before was opened by Christof Demel in 1848 and the nobility and mandarins were main customers. On the other hand, musicians, opera singers and actors were main customers here because it was near the opera house. It was opened by Franz Sacher who was a confectioner of Metternich. |

When each Anna was at both cafe in 1930's, an incident came up. Cafe Sacher was about to go bankrupt and asked Anna Demel for help. Instead of that, she made them approve to make Sachertorte at Damel. After Eduard Sacher who asked Damel for help was dead, bereaved families of Sacher claimed that it was an injustice that Demel advocated with "original Sachertorte" for a trial. |

ザッハーによると唯一正当なトルテはザッハー家のレシピによるもので中央部にアンズのマーマレードを詰めたものではならないと訴えました。この裁判には何十人もの証人が呼ばれ、ザッハー・トルテとはなにかについて10年以上も争われました。1962年に結審。

According to the suit of Sacher family, the only official torte was made with the recipe of Sacher family and they appealed the torte had to be filled with the marmalade of the apricot. Dozens of witnesses were invited to this trial and It was argued about what the Sachertorte is more than ten years. The hearing was concluded in 1962. |

こっちの方が好きかな。おいしかった。判決は両方共、ザッハー・トルテを生産・販売していいがオリジナルは双方に限られることとなりました。まあ要するにお互い仲良くうまくやっていけということです。でもおかげで今も両方のザッハー・トルテが食べられます。

I like this better. It was very nice. The judgement said both of them could make and sell Sachertorte, but the original was limited to either. In brief, it meaned both of them got along well peacefully each other. Because of that, we can eat both Sachertorte even now. |

ザッハ・トルテも食べたし、ホテルまでぶらぶら夜景を見ながら歩きました。ここはパリ、ミラノと並ぶヨーロッパ3大オペラ劇場。1869年にこけら落とし。2010年までは小沢征爾が音楽監督。

After we had a sachertorte, we saw a night view while we were walking to the hotel. It is a one of the three great opera house, along with Paris and Milan. It was opend in 1869. Seiji Ozawa was a music director from 2002 through 2010. |

ホテルとメトロの駅が近いので７２時間券を買ったけど、ホテルからここまでも近いんだよね。どこでも歩けるよ。

We bought 72 hours tickets of a metro because our hotel is close to ta station, but it is very near from a hotel to here. We could walk anywhere. |
