「スキール」は1100年以上前にノルウェーがアイスランドに持ち込みました。そしてスカンジナビアの他の地域にはほとんど残っていないのですが、アイスランド文化の一部としてはまだ残っています。ヨーグルトとクリームチーズの中間の風味の乳製品です。まさにチーズケーキとヨーグルトケーキの中間の味。

「グトルフォス」から五分ほどにある間欠泉を見に行きました。ここはアイスランドで最も有名な間欠泉の一つで、4-6分毎に15-20m、時には40mまで温泉が吹き上がります。いろんなところからお湯が湧いています。

On the way to the hotel. This house was a residence of Halldor Laxness who received the 1955 Nobel Prize in Literature. he is the only Icelandic Nobel laureate.
