イタリアのクルーズ会社ＭＳＣの「プレチオーサ」で地中海クルーズです。ヨットクラブメンバー専用のチェックイン。待合室にはシャンペンと軽食が用意してありました。気持ち、盛り上がるー！

We were going on a Mediterranean Sea Cruise by the ship, "The Preziosa", of Italian cruise company, "MSC". It's a check-in counter for exclusive use of the yacht club member. Champagne and snacks were prepared in the waiting room. Our feelings became lively.

The club member could go on board by the guidance of the exclusive person in charge with precedence. The ship came into view. 18 stories ship. The area for exclusive use of the club member was from the 15th floor to the top.

クラブメンバー専用のラウンジ。朝は6時から夜は2時まで開いています。朝食、軽食、ケーキ、フルーツ、ソフト・ドリンク、お酒も飲み放題、食べ放題。

The lounge for exclusive use of the member. It was opened from 6:00 in the morning to 2:00 in the night. We could eat and drink everything such as breakfast, snacks, cakes, fruits, soft-drink, beer and wine as much as we wanted.

コロッセオまでのシャトルバスに乗って、ローマの街歩きに出かけます。コロッセオの建築はウェスパシアヌス帝の時代、紀元72年に始まり彼の後継者ティトゥス帝時代、80年に完成しました。更なる改良がドミティアヌス帝統治時代（81年から96年）に行われました。

We arrived at Rome. We rode the shuttle bus to Colosseum and went for the Rome city walk. Construction of it began under the emperor Vespasian in 72 AD, and was completed in 80 AD under his successor and heir Titus. Further modifications were made during the reign of Domitian (81-96).

コロッセオは周囲をぐるりと囲むほどの入場待ちの列。前に来た時はふらっと入れたイメージなんですが。地下鉄でサン・ピエトロ大聖堂へ。コロッセオは中世初期には娯楽目的で使われることが終了しました。その後、ここは住居、作業場、宗教目的の宿舎、砦、石切り場、キリスト教聖堂等の目的で再利用されました。

The queue awaiting entrance surrounded Colosseum. We had the image that we were able to get into it soon when we came here. We were going to St Peter's Basilica by subway. Colosseum ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine.

We saw "Pontifical Swiss Guard" on the way from the station to "St. Peter's Basilica". The Swiss constitution, as amended in 1874, forbade all military capitulations and recruitment of Swiss by foreign powers, although volunteering in foreign armies continued until prohibited outright, in 1927. The Pontifical Swiss Guard is an exception to the Swiss rulings of 1874 and 1927. A small force maintained by the Holy See, it is responsible for the safety of the Pope, including the security of the Apostolic Palace. The Pontifical Swiss Guard has its origins in the 15th century.

We arrived. As I thought, it was beautiful. By Catholic Tradition, the Basilica is the burial site of its namesake St. Peter, one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ and, also according to tradition, the first Pope and Bishop of Rome. Tradition and strong historical evidence hold that St. Peter's tomb is directly below the high altar of the Basilica. For this reason, many Popes have been interred at St. Peter's since the Early Christian period. There has been a church on this site since the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. Construction of the present basilica, replacing the Old St. Peter's Basilica of the 4th century AD, began on 18 April 1506 and was completed on 18 November 1626.

It has been many years since we came here last. In 1939, in the reign of Pope Pius XII, 10 years of archaeological research began, under the crypt of the basilica, an area inaccessible since the 9th century. The excavations revealed the remains of shrines of different periods at different levels, from Clement VIII (1594) to Callixtus II (1123) and Gregory I (590-604), built over an aedicula containing fragments of bones that were folded in a tissue with gold decorations, tinted with the precious murex purple. Although it could not be determined with certainty that the bones were those of Peter, the rare vestments suggested a burial of great importance. On 23 December 1950, in his pre-Christmas radio broadcast to the world, Pope Pius XII announced the discovery of Saint Peter's tomb.

It was the third appearance also for Muffy and Molly. To the east of the basilica is the Piazza di San Pietro, (St. Peter's Square). The present arrangement was constructed between 1656 and 1667. The obelisk, known as "The Witness", at 25.5 metres and a total height, including base and the cross on top, of 40 metres, is the second largest standing obelisk, and the only one to remain standing since its removal from Egypt and re-erection at the Circus of Nero in 37 AD, where it is thought to have stood witness to the crucifixion of St Peter.

It is believed by a long tradition that Peter, after a ministry of about thirty years, travelled to Rome and met his martyrdom there in the year 64 AD during the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero. His execution was one of the many martyrdoms of Christians following the Great Fire of Rome. According to Origen, Peter was crucified head downwards, by his own request because he considered himself unworthy to die in the same manner as Jesus. The crucifixion took place near an ancient Egyptian obelisk in the Circus of Nero.

前に来た時に行きたかったところ。ここは並んでなくてよかった。
映画「ローマの休日」ではここの前を流れている「テヴェレ川」のボートの上でダンスパーティがありました。

名前の由来になった天使の像。伝説によれば大天使ミカエルが廟の天井に現れ、590年のペスト流行終了の印として剣を鞘に収めました。それで城に名前が与えられました。もう一つは慈悲深くなくもう少し詳しいもので15世紀に天井に天使を見た旅人が聞いたもので、天使に軍事的要素が加わっています。彼はペスト流行の長い間を過ごし、法王グレゴリウス1世はキリスト教徒を含めた人々がサブラの聖アガタ教会の異教の偶像を崇拝し始めていることを聞きました。その光景は法王を教会への行列に連れ出しました。教会に到着すると奇跡的に偶像は雷に打たれ崩落しました。法王が橋を渡って聖ペテロ教会に戻ると彼は城の上の天使が血を自分のマントで拭い、鞘に収めている光景を見ました。

The angel statue which became the Origin of the name. Legend holds that the Archangel Michael appeared atop the mausoleum, sheathing his sword as a sign of the end of the plague of 590, thus lending the castle its present name. A less charitable yet more apt elaboration of the legend, given the militant disposition of this archangel, was heard by the 15th-century traveler who saw an angel statue on the castle roof. He recounts that during a prolonged season of the plague, Pope Gregory I heard that the populace, even Christians, had begun revering a pagan idol at the church of Santa Agata in Suburra. A vision urged the pope to lead a procession to the church. Upon arriving, the idol miraculously fell apart with a clap of thunder. Returning to St Peter's by the Aelian Bridge, the pope had another vision of an angel atop the castle, wiping the blood from his sword on his mantle, and then sheathing it.

It represents a Moor, or African (perhaps originally meant to be Neptune), standing in a conch shell, wrestling with a dolphin, surrounded by four Tritons. The fountain was originally designed 1575 with the dolphin and four Tritons. In 1653, the statue of the Moor was added. In 1874, during a restoration of the fountain, the original statues were moved to the Galleria Borghese and replaced with copies.

The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi was unveiled to the populace of Rome on 12 June 1651. The base of the fountain is a basin from the centre of which travertine rocks rise to support four river gods and above them, an ancient Egyptian obelisk surmounted with the emblem of a dove with an olive twig. Collectively, they represent four major rivers of the four continents through which papal authority had spread: the Nile representing Africa, the Danube representing Europe, the Ganges representing Asia, and the Río de la Plata representing the Americas.

中心には「パンテオン噴水」がありエジプトのオベリスクが乗っています。噴水は法王グレゴリウス8世の時代1575年に造られ、オベリスクは法王クレメンス11世の時代1711年に加えられました。オベリスクは元々ファラオ、ラムセス2世によってヘリオポリスのラー神殿のために造られましたが、古代にローマに運ばれパンテオンの南東にあったエジプト神イシスの神殿Iseum Campenseで再利用されていました。

In the center of the piazza is a fountain, the Fontana del Pantheon, surmounted by an Egyptian obelisk. The fountain was constructed under Pope Gregory XIII in 1575, and the obelisk was added to it in 1711 under Pope Clement XI. The obelisk, originally constructed by Pharaoh Ramses II for the Temple of Ra in Heliopolis, had been brought to Rome in ancient times where it was reused in the Iseum Campense, a shrine to the Egyptian god Isis that stood to the southeast of the Pantheon

塔は1307年に建てられ、18世紀に部分的に壊されました。塔はムーア人やジェノアの攻撃に対する街の砦の一部でした。アラゴン王国時代に改良され牢獄として使われました。1906年に修理されています。

We did a shopping at the shopping arcade, saw the show and had a drink. A fun day was finished. We buy anything by this card in the ship. When we get in the exclusive area, we use it.

It's a canopy of Gaudi. In 1901, fifty years after a restoration of the cathedral had started, Antoni Gaudí was invited to take over the project. While some of his ideas were adopted - moving the choir stalls from the middle nave to be closer to the altar, as well as a large canopy - Gaudí abandoned his work in 1914 after an argument with the contractor. The planned changes were essentially cosmetic rather than structural, and the project was cancelled soon after.

「中央市場」を出て「大聖堂」へ。
昔、道路に面している部分の幅によって税金が決まっていたので扉の幅のみのビルができたそうです。左側黄色いビルとカフェのあるビルに挟まれたピンクのビル。ほそーい！

We left "Mercado Central" and went to "Cathedral".
In the past, the tax was decided by the width of the building facing on the road, therefore the building with only the width of the door was created. It's the pink building between yellow building on the left side and the building with cafe. It's thin.

The last great component of it was presented on October 9, 2005. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia

船に戻ってスパでマッサージ。でっかい海を見ながらマッサージで至福のとき。毎回1時間ほどのマッサージをお願いしていました。

We came back to the ship and got a massage in the spa. We felt big happiness in massage and a scenery with an ocean view. We asked one hour massage every time.

Cocktail party hosted by the captain. Although I had an image of the captain of the universal battleship "Yamato", he was completely different. I think it is the difference between a battleship and a liner.

The city of Marseille from "Notre-Dame de la Garde". In 1892 a funicular to ascend the cliff was built and became known as the elevator. The advent of the automobile killed the funicular. On September 11, 1967 with 18. 30, the funicular was shut down as unprofitable.

「ロンシャン宮」
ディナンス川からマルセイユへ水を引くマルセイユ運河の建設を記念して造られました。礎石は1839年11月15日に置かれましたが完成まで30年かかっています。それは膨大な費用とこの地方の法規への適合の困難さからでした。ロンシャン公園も宮殿と同時の1869年に公開されました。現在はマルセイユ美術館と自然歴史博物館が入っています。

"Palais Longchamp"
It was created to celebrate the construction of the Canal de Marseille, which was built to bring water from the Durance River to Marseille. Although the foundation stone was laid on 15 November 1839, the building took 30 years to complete, partly because of the enormous expense and partly because of difficulties with local regulations. Parc Longchamp was opened in 1869, at the same time as the palace. It houses the city's musee des beaux-arts and natural history museum now.
