 歩いていたらパロン遊歩道公園に着きました。ニース市内のパロン川の最後の数kmはこの公園で蓋われています。マセナの像です。彼はフランス革命とナポレオン戦争時のフランス陸軍の指揮官でナポレオンによって任命された最初の18人の元帥の一人です。
When we walked, we arrived at "Promenade du Paillon" park. The Paillon is covered in its last kilometers in the city of Nice by this park. It's the statue of Massena. He was a French military commander during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars and one of the original eighteen Marshals of the Empire created by Napoleon. |

The Abbey was deeply in debt, and in 1785, the abbot declared bankruptcy. |

 ホテルへ帰る途中、ニース空港の横を通りました。実は滞在中、近くのカンヌでは映画祭、モナコではレースが開催中。世界中のセレブがプライベートジェットで集まっています。ニース空港にもたくさんのプライベートジェットが駐機されていました。小さな空港なのに、プライベートジェットエリアが広い広い。
We went along the side of Nice airport on the way to the hotel. Actually, the movie festival was held in Cannes and the autorace was held in Monaco. Celebrities of all over the world gathered here by private jets. A lot of private jets parked also at Nice airport. The airport isn't a big airport, though it has a huge space for private jets. |

A risotto of truffle. It's exquisite. It wasn't the restraunt which had been recommended, though it was a very nice restaurant. The restaurant was almost full with the reservation and we guessed we could take the last non-reserved table. We were lucky. |

 村の頂上は「城跡」。今は熱帯植物園です。植物園を見に行くのではなく、頂上からの眺めを楽しみに植物園をめざします。頂上はもうすぐ！
The top of the village is "chateau's ruins". Today it's Jardin botanique d'Eze. We head for the botanical garden to look forward to seeing the view from the top, not to see the botanical garden itself. We well get the top soon. |

上からニースの海岸を見ようと思います。上までエレベーターで上れます。ニース城は軍事目的に使われた砦です。丘の上に建てられ、11世紀から18世紀までニースの海岸を見下ろしていました。

 実は、今回の旅行、ニースにでも行くかーときたのですが、きてみるとモナコはレース中、カンヌは映画祭中ということで思わぬ忙しさになりました。で、午後からカンヌへ出かけることに。ニース駅です。1867年に完成しました。何度か修復されましたが常にオリジナルの様式は維持されました。
Actually we hadn't known Monaco Grandprix and Cannes film festival were held around the same time until we came to Nice. However we were bery busy because of two big entertainments. And we were going to Cannes in the afternoon. It's Nice-Ville. The station was completed in 1867. The station has been remodelled several times but always kept its original style. |
