 世界遺産の小さな村「ホーロックー」に向けて出発。「くさり橋」を渡って…
「ホーロックー」はハンガリーで最も美しい村とも評される伝統的な村落が保たれていることから、古民家の建ち並ぶ中心的な通りが1987年にユネスコの世界遺産（文化遺産）に登録されました。現在では世界遺産に登録されている村は他にもありますが、ホーロークーの登録はそれらの中で最初のものです。
We start to "Holloko" which is the small village of the world heritage. We cross the "Chain Bridge". The central street of Holloko where is lined with old private houses were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, because the traditional village that was described as the most beautiful village in Hungary was kept there. Though there are other village which is inscribed as the worlf heritage now, Holloko was the first one of them. |

 世界遺産の「アンドラーシ通り」を抜けてブダペストの北東９０キロにある村をめざします。「アンドラーシ通り」の突き当りは「英雄広場」です。世界遺産「ブダペストのドナウ河岸とブダ城地区およびアンドラーシ通り」の登録範囲はこの英雄広場と両脇の美術館までです。
We go toward the village in northeast 90 kilos of Budapest through the "Andrassy Avenue" of the world heritage. The end of the "Andrassy Avenue" is the "Heroes' Square". Registration range of UNESCO World Heritage Site "Budapest, including the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrassy Avenue" is to this Heroes' Square and the art museum of the both side. |

 「ホーロックー」村の入り口。「ホーロックー」とはカラスと石という意味だそうです。伝説によれば有力者がこの城を建てて、隣国の美女をさらってそこに幽閉しました。その乳母が悪魔に女性の救助を依頼すると、悪魔はカラスたちを使い、城の石を持ち去って助け出したといい、ここから城と村が「ホーロックー」と呼ばれるようになったのだといいます。
The entrance of "Holloko" village. I heard "Holloko" means a crow and a stone. According to legend, an influential person built the castle, kidnaped a beautiful girl of neighboring country and confined her there. Her nanny asked a devil to help her and the devil made crows carry all the stones of the castle. From here the castle and village is called "Holloko". |

 むらの案内板。補助金が出て観光地になるための修復行われています。
でも異伝では魔女がカラスたちに石を運ばせ、城を作り上げた民話に由来するとも言われています。現在の村の紋章でもカラスが使われています。
A direction board of the village. Restoration to become the sightseeing spot by the subsidy is carried out. There is also the opinion to come from the folktale that a witch lets the crows carry a stone to built up a castle. A crow is used for the crest of the village even now. |

 村の特徴的な家。こんな家が通りに沿ってならんでいます。ホッローケー村の伝統的な住民たちはパローツ人であり、モンゴルの西進の際にカスピ海沿岸部から逃れてきたクマン人の流れを汲むとも言われています。その伝統的集落は木造を主体としており、焼失と再建を繰り返してきました。1781年には木造を禁止する法令も出され罰則も定められましたが、木造の伝統は守られていきました。
It's a characteristic house of the village. The houses like this form a line along the street. The traditional residents were Paloc and it is said they were descented from Qipchaq who escaped from the coast of Caspian Sea in time of the moving west of Mongolia. The traditional village was based on wooden construction and have had to be rebuilt many times throughout the years due to periodic fires. Though the laws to prohibit wooden construction were given, and the penal regulations were established in 1781. However the wooden tradition was followed. |

 「ホーロックー城」
現在修復中で立入禁止。伝説では美女や悪魔が登場しますが、実際の建造目的はそれらとは何の関係もなく、1241年から1242年にモンゴル帝国の侵攻を受けた後に、それへの備えとして建造されたものです。

 小さな村であっという間に一周できます。建造物群の大半は1909年の大火で焼失してしまったため、20世紀になって再建されたものです。再建時には石壁を主体とするようになり、木造は限定的に取り入れられています。右にいるのは日本語ベラベラのハンガリー人ガイドさん。4年勉強しただけでここまでうまくなるのかというレベル。
Because it is a small village, I can go around it in no time. The most of the buildings were destroyed by the big fire in 1909 and rebuilt in the 20th century. When they were rebuilt, the stone wall was used mainly and the wooden construction was adopted restrictively. The right person is a Hungarian guide who speaks Japanese very well. I can't believe he studied Japanese for only 4 years. |

 陶芸家の仕事場
ここは20世紀のハンガリーにおいて経済的に取り残された地域でした。鉄道や幹線道路の敷設地からも離れており、1950年代以降にハンガリーが経済成長を遂げたときにも、そうした流れとはほぼ無縁でした。しかしその結果、共産主義政権下での集団農場化にも巻き込まれることがないまま、伝統的集落が良好な状態で保存されることになり、1987年には人が住んでいる村落として初めて世界遺産に登録されました。

It was an area left behind economically in Hungary of the 20th century. It was far from the railway or the main road and approximately unrelated to the economic growth of Hungary. However, as a result, a traditional village was stored in a good state without being rolled up the collectivization under the communist regime. In 1987, It was enrolled in a world heritage for the first time as the village where a person lived in. |

 村役場も同じ形。現在の議会は市長以下5人の代議士が存在しています。一番の問題は年金受給者が7割にも達する村人口の高齢化です。もちろん世界遺産登録地域の保全や関連する文化の継承も重要な課題となっています。
The exterior of a village office is also same. The current assembly consists of five representatives including the mayor. The first problem is aging of the villagers that pensioners reaches 70% of the population. The maintenance of the world heritage registration area and the succession of the associated culture are also the important problem. |

 もちろんレストランも同じ形。これはパローツ様式と呼ばれ、独特の建築様式が保存されています。白い壁は泥と藁を混ぜたものに石灰を塗って作られています。屋根は主に入母屋造で、破風には木製の飾り格子があり、それぞれの家が分かる家紋のような透かし彫りになっています。これは装飾的役割だけでなく、煙の通り道としても機能しています。外観は2階建てのようにも見えますが、石造りの地下室と木造の平屋で構成されています。
Of course the exterior of restaurant is also same. It is called paloc style and Unique architecture is stored. The white wall is made by plastering a lime with the mixture of mud and straw. Its roof is Irimoya-zukuri (half-hipped) mainly and gables has a wooden decoration lattice. They become the openwork such as the family crest which each distinguishes each family. This functions as not only the decorative role but also a way of the smoke. Though the appearance looks like 2 story building, it is constructed in a stone basement and a wooden one-storied house. |

 「ホーロックー」のシンボルの教会。
本来14世紀に建造されたものだが1909年に焼失したため、忠実に再建されたものです。2002年にも改修がなされました。

 同じく村のシンボル的おばあちゃん。NHKでも紹介されたらしいです。女性の正装は多重のスカートやエプロンからなる民族衣装で、行事のとき以外にも日曜礼拝などで着用されました。女性の場合、結婚してから出産するまでの間には、特に華やかな専用の衣装を着ます。これは慎ましやかな未婚の時期と、子育てに忙殺される出産後の時期の間が最も華やぐ時期とする考えからです。
This old lady is a symbol of this village as well as the chrch. She was introduced by Japanese TV, NHK. A formal dress is a folk costume consisting of multiplex skirt and aprons and was worn by Sunday service as well as time of the event. The woman wears particularly gorgeous exclusive clothes from a marriage to a chilbirth. Because people in this area think a period between a modest single time and extremely busy time with child care is a time to create gaiety most for women. |
